Beginning of Life
I support women during the transition of pregnancy to parenthood who believe in using natural methods because they realize that birth is a natural process.
Pregnancy is such a beautiful and exciting time, because the creation of a new life is one of life’s blessings. Birth is a natural process, however, many women feel overwhelmed and need support with the changes that they are experiencing. Many experience a wide range of symptoms such as morning sickness, headaches, exhaustion, backache, heartburn, dry skin, or feel overwhelmed, anxious, or isolated.
Feeling supported and using natural remedies are key to having a calm, peaceful pregnancy. Whether it’s a natural remedy for leg cramps, a body butter for stretch marks or breathing techniques to relief anxiety, there is always a natural way to get to the root of the issues and achieve lasting results.
Pregnancy is a time of great change, the body is experiencing hormonal fluctuations which can result in a wide range of issues such as headaches, nausea, and exhaustion to name a few. It’s a very important time to nurture and care for the body as it is changing. There are many natural methods that will support a woman throughout her pregnancy whether it be creating an essential oil blend to relieve backaches, a body butter to prevent stretch marks, or an herbal tea to increase energy.
Morning Sickness or Nausea
Often the first sign that you are pregnant is an upset tummy or morning sickness and 50 per cent of pregnant women will experience it. The symptoms of morning sickness are nausea and vomiting. Morning sickness often dissipates after the first trimester; however, it may continue for the entire pregnancy. If the issue proceeds, you may have to apply a few lifestyle changes, such as eating small meals, getting exercise especially in nature, and staying away from processed and oil laden foods. Inhaling specific essential oils when nauseous and drinking herbal teas will often make you feel better. Energy techniques also help because there may be a disconnect between your body and the baby which causes nausea.
You are going through extreme hormonal changes while pregnant and these changes are going to effect the body. You may feel ill, your hair may become greasy, maybe you suffer from migraine headaches, or emotionally you feel funky and just can’t shake it. There are natural remedies and energy techniques for every condition that you are experiencing so your pregnancy can be more enjoyable.
Low Energy & Exhaustion
Having low energy and feeling exhausted are common complaints. It is important to know that the baby will get the nutrients first. This is why it is essential that you take good care of yourself. Eating high quality nutritious foods, drinking lots of water, getting adequate rest, moving the body, and feeling supported will make all the difference. Diffusing certain essential oils in the home and drinking nutritious herbal teas will support the body. They are many natural remedies that can be incorporated into your daily routine.
There could be many reasons or a combination of reasons for not being able to sleep. Insomnia may be due to hormonal changes, not being able to quiet your thoughts, being overtired, having to pee throughout the night, or feeling uncomfortable. There are many herbs and essential oils that can be used in teas, baths, or diffused that will bring relief. These coupled with breathing and energy techniques will calm the mind, body, and emotions. Many have difficulty sleeping, especially as they near the end of their pregnancy. This is nature’s way of preparing for the birth of the baby. Resting and taking naps when you can will help you throughout these months.
Headaches can occur from hormonal swings, lack of water, exhaustion, low blood sugar, or stress. Drinking water, getting proper nutrition, taking time to rest the body, exercise, and getting enough sleep will support the body. Additionally, specific essential oils can be used in a compress, a shower, or diffused throughout the home. Sometimes a shot of espresso can even help. Or if you’re in the mood, an orgasm.
Backache & Leg Cramps
As the baby grows, more pressure is concentrated on the mid to lower area of the back which can cause strained muscles. Turning too quickly or lifting heavy objects can also result in back pain. Using specific essential oils in a bath, on a compress, or massaged onto the back will bring relief. However, prevention really is the key. Daily stretching, yoga postures, and a healthy weight gain will keep your body in balance.
Leg cramps can range from a dull ache to spasms in the calves which often happen while asleep and are often a result of weight gain. Gently straightening your leg and pulling toes towards your nose will relax the knot in the leg. Eating magnesium and potassium rich foods will also help relieve discomfort.
Dry Skin & Stretch Marks
The skin is the largest organ of the body and is going through so many changes during pregnancy. Some women have dry skin while others have oily skin and this is a result of hormonal fluctuations. Eating high quality fats and high quality nutritious foods will support the skin’s elasticity and texture. To minimize stretch marks, start using natural high quality creams or body butters at the beginning of your pregnancy.
Emotionally you may have feelings that swing from excited to overwhelmed. You may feel isolated, sad, or anxious about labour. All these emotions are natural and they are not good or bad. The key is how you handle them. Pay attention to your emotions, if you find they are taking over and preventing you from enjoying your pregnancy then they need to be talked about. Using natural remedies, movement, energy techniques, and coaching will bring relief.
OVERWHELM & ANXIETY
It is becoming more common for women to suffer from anxiety and feel overwhelmed, fearful, nervous, worried, or concerned during their pregnancy. Resting, using specific yoga postures, meditating, being with friends and family, and spending time in nature will calm your nerves and reduce your symptoms. Coaching and energy medicine relieve anxiety because they address the root of the problem and then clear it long-term. There are also specific essential oil blends that can be used to bring peace and calm into your life.
It is natural to gain weight during pregnancy, yet women struggle with it. Some go overboard and eat everything in sight while others obsess about everything they put into their mouth. This has more to do with your own body image than been pregnant. Coaching can help you look at your beliefs around weight and see if they are supporting you. If they are not then there are ways to let go of the negative patterns. Learning which nutritious foods to eat to maintain your health, weight, exercise, and a meditative practice will bring enormous benefits.
NERVOUSNESS ABOUT LABOUR
It is natural to feel nervous about labour and women love to share their stories with other women which can cause more anxiety. There are many natural remedies and energy techniques that can be used along with discussing the issues around labour. Is labour painful? Yes, it is, but it is also one of the most empowering and life transforming events of your life. The best advice is to be as informed as you can be, know your options, and feel supported.
INTIMACY WITH PARTNER / BEING CONNECTED WITH PARTNER
Many couples go through challenges while pregnant. Some women often want sex while others have no urge at all. These issues are complex and are not easy to communicate which is why it is so important that they be discussed. Some men want sex and others don’t (for various reasons). Intimacy issues occur when there are hormonal fluctuations, lack of communication, lack of knowledge, or giving into beliefs that don’t serve the couple. Coaching, using natural remedies, and letting go of old patterns can shift both partners’ perspectives and bring harmony back into the relationship.
FEELING ALONE & ISOLATED
In ancient times, women had a lot of support from their family and community; however, that isn’t often the case in today’s world. Pregnancy is a time when women need to feel supported and nurtured. If they don’t, they may feel alone and isolated. Coaching, using natural remedies, and learning to ask for what you need will help you feel acknowledged, heard, and supported during this beautiful time in your life.
BEING A NEW MOM
Welcome to the joy of motherhood! It’s the beginning of a new time, everything is going to change, and it’s exciting and also nerve-wracking. Your own childhood memories may be coming up and this is a great time to look at your beliefs, journal, exercise, rest, and nurture yourself. Natural remedies and expressing what you are thinking and feeling will bring peace into your life. Yes, there’s lots to do and learn, but be sure to simplify each task and nurture yourself along this new journey.
LACK OF SUPPORT
In the past, families lived closer together and communities were naturally more resourceful and helpful. In today’s day and age, families are smaller and somewhat isolated. New parents also have this feeling that they can do it all on their own. This is a fantasy! It is extremely important to find your support system – ideally before giving birth. If you don’t, you’ll start working around the clock, sleep will be intermittent, your fatigue and lack of patience will affect your relationships, your work may suffer, and being a new parent will be too overwhelming. Coaching, being prepared, and creating your support group will make all the difference.
Often people don’t feel calm or relaxed in their home and they are not sure why. Have you ever considered that it could be the body and cleaning products that you are using? With a little education, it will be easy to remove toxins/synthetic products from your home and replace them with natural alternatives. Your home is your sanctuary it is essential that it feels cozy, calm and peaceful.
REMOVING TOXINS & SYNTHETIC PRODUCTS FROM THE HOME
Many homes are toxic and often one may not even know it. Increasingly reports are stating that cleaning and beauty products contain toxins that are harmful to us and are affecting the health of our family and pets. It is important to remove toxic and synthetic cleaning products from your home and replace them with natural alternatives. Did you know that the average woman uses 12 different products containing 176 ingredients many of which are toxic before breakfast? The skin is the largest organ of the body and everything you apply to it is being absorbed into you and the baby. Having natural alternatives will be a win win for everyone.
CLEARING & CLEANING TECHNIQUES
Did you know that clutter in a home blocks the flow of energy? Letting go of stuff, de-cluttering and cleaning up is energetically cleansing. There are many clearing techniques that will make your home feel lighter and happier.
CREATING A CALM NURTURING HOME
Your home is your sanctuary and you deserve to feel grounded, calm, and peaceful. You can create any mood you want by diffusing essential oils into your room, listening to beautiful music, and by being organized. It doesn’t cost much and the changes will be powerful.
PREPARING FOR BABY
Often this is called nesting, which means getting your home and the baby’s room ready. You can also create a peaceful mood by diffusing calming and relaxing essential oils. Spending time in quiet reflection will bring happiness and joy into this experience. It will also set the intention that this new environment will be peaceful and fulfilling for the whole family.

Janet Katalinic“Not only does Robyn have an innate sense of understanding what it means to suffer loss and have compassion for the topic of grief based on her own vast personal experiences but she has an amazing arsenal of coping strategies that she draws upon to help you with your own individual situation such as she did when helping me with coping with my ailing mother. In particular, she has helped me be self-aware and control the way I react to my mother to keep peace within myself rather than fight a situation that can’t be changed. This has been both very healing and inspiring, allowing me to spend my energy in a more positive, meaningful way.”
Nicole Seeger“Robyn has a true gift helping people with her plant medicine wisdom. Her rich experience, education, practical and intuitive understanding of what is needed when is unparalleled. She has helped myself, my husband and both of my kids to heal infections, colds, flus and supported us during times of grief and trauma.
